Remote Head of Content & Strategy

 As the Head of Content & Strategy, you will be responsible for growing this function from approximately $200k annually to over $1 million in the next two years. You will collaborate with various teams across SketchDeck, including Business Development, Creative Directors, and Account Directors. Your role includes managing and expanding the content team, overseeing strategy, digital marketing, copywriting, email marketing, and more. Reporting to the Founder & SVP, you will ensure excellence across all content channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and deliver content across websites, social media, email campaigns, presentations, blogs, and ad copy, ensuring alignment with client goals and brand voice.
  • Manage and expand a pool of freelance writers, editors, and strategists, ensuring the right talent is matched with the right projects.
  • Serve as the editorial lead, guiding writers with feedback and helping them refine their craft.
  • Support business development by joining pitches, providing expertise, and building client confidence in content strategies.
  • Collaborate with teams to scope projects, estimate costs, and align strategies with client objectives and budgets.
  • Develop client-focused content strategies for both B2B and B2C markets, ensuring impact and relevance.
  • Implement processes and quality control to ensure smooth collaboration between content and design teams.
  • Expand SketchDeck’s content and strategy services, identifying new opportunities for growth while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Work closely with digital, video, and account teams to deliver integrated, multi-channel content strategies.

What You Bring:

  • A strategic and analytical approach, balancing big-picture thinking with detailed execution, using data to shape content strategies.
  • Versatile experience across different content formats such as social media, emails, white papers, and technical writing.
  • Strong expertise in both B2B and B2C content creation, with a knack for simplifying complex concepts for various audiences.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to juggle strategic planning, hands-on work, and team support.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present strategies clearly and concisely.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and skilled at building relationships in a global, remote-first environment.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in a creative or marketing agency.
  • Proven ability to scale content and strategy services, lead teams, and develop long-term content strategies.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
