Senior Android Engineer

Be a Key Player in Shaping the Future of Our Android App

As a pivotal member of our Android development team, you’ll play a central role in driving the success of our business by building the foundation and delivering critical features for our cutting-edge Android app. This opportunity is perfect for someone with a passion for innovation, whether you’re coming from a startup background where you’ve created apps from the ground up or transitioning from a larger company to get hands-on with a product that’s packed with exciting features.

A Dynamic, Remote-First Work Environment

We are a fully remote international startup that thrives on flexibility and creativity. This role is far from your typical 9-to-5 job—it’s a dynamic position where you’ll take ownership of responsibilities, attend crucial meetings, and embrace feedback as part of a collaborative team. We value curiosity and the ability to learn and grow from constructive criticism. Perfection isn’t our expectation, but continuous improvement is.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll take charge of major features within the app, collaborating closely with designers and engineers to deliver outstanding results. Your contributions will go beyond coding; you’ll help shape the direction of our Android team and ensure reliability and quality across key features.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and owning features from start to finish, ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborating across teams, including Product, Design, and Engineering, to align on goals.
  • Maintaining and improving reliability metrics to enhance user experience.
  • Reviewing code, supporting teammates, and handling critical issues with agility.
  • Leading feature releases and preparing nightly builds for QA testing.

What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for someone with a blend of technical expertise, user empathy, and a strong drive to push the boundaries of Android development. You should have a proven track record of creating exceptional user experiences and writing clean, maintainable code.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on Android.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and related technologies like Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, and Jetpack Navigation.
  • Expertise in Android components and building or contributing to Android apps.
  • Deep understanding of MVVM, Clean Architecture, and UI/UX design principles.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Dagger 2, Room, and JUnit.
  • Experience in Agile development with biweekly sprints and releases.
  • Excellent communication skills and a user-centric problem-solving approach.

Bonus Skills:

  • Contributions to open-source Android projects.
  • Experience with additional platforms like iOS, Web, or Node.js.
