Senior Backend Engineer, AI Serving (Node)

Position Overview

As Speechify continues to grow, our AI team is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer. This position is crucial for ensuring our infrastructure scales effectively, optimizing essential product workflows, and building robust end-to-end systems. If you have a passion for strategic planning, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are ready to take ownership of product decisions, we want to hear from you.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Node.js services that empower Speechify’s product teams to leverage the full capabilities of our AI Voices for a variety of applications.
• Deploy and manage the core ML inference workloads within our AI Voices serving pipeline.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience in shipping Node.js services using Typescript (required).
• Proven track record of successfully managing critical production services.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, Docker, and containerized deployments.
• Preferred: Background in deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes.
• Preferred: Experience in bringing ML models into production.
